What Exactly Are Class C RV's?

Class C motorhomes are our most frequently rented motorhome type! Our fleet of over 30 RV's are made up of about half Class C motorhomes. The reason being is because they are perfect for family getaways, which is the most frequent reason we see people renting for! Unlike it's Class A cousin, these motorhome types are built on large truck or van chassis. They have an attached cab in front with doors that open like you would find in a truck or traditional automobile. Class C's are often times referred to as mini Class A's but you will see the distinct differences in the attached cab and overall size of the motorhome. These RV's are usually 15-32 ft. in length and weighing anywhere from 8,000 to 18,000 lbs.

Class C motorhomes are typically in the middle when it comes to overall size. These typically sleep anywhere from 4-10 individuals. The gross vehicle weight of these motorhomes are around 8,000-18,000 lbs. with a length ranging from 15-32 ft.

Miles Per Gallon Average

Well, RV's aren't exactly known for their great fuel efficiency... But Class C motorhomes do get better gas mileage than their distant Class A cousin! When traveling this great country you can expect anywhere from 7-16 miles to the gallon! The range depends greatly on the model you choose to rent. Key thing to consider, the larger the motorhome, more likely the worse off the gas mileage is!

​Drivability Of Class C Motorhomes?

​We can best compare driving a Class C motorhome to driving a U-Haul truck. But the overall drivability of these motorhomes is pretty easy to do! These RV types are not nearly as large or as high up in the driver's seat as a Class A motorhome. Traditionally, since they are smaller they are easier to maneuver! Why Rent A Class C Motorhome?

Very Easy To Drive!

If you've driven a U-haul before, then you know what it is like to drive a class C RV! These mid-sized motorhome models are about as high off the ground as a truck. Their cab like driving space on the front of the rig feels a lot like driving a truck. They are smaller than Class A motorhomes, and you would be hard pressed to find a RV park that wouldn't be able to house an RV of this size.

Campsite Accessibility

With the average campsite parking space about 40ft long at most state and national parks, you would have trouble finding a spot that won't fit your rental! Also, the size of the motorhome makes it easier to operate and maneuver around a RV Park than a Class A would!

Like camper vans, these models are great for small family or couple get aways! With the capacity to fit anywhere from 4-10 adults, there is plenty of space! These RV types offer all of the amenities you could possibly ask for! Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and seating areas! Fuel Efficiency

 Motorhomes aren't known for great fuel efficiency. With a gross vehicle weight sometimes 3x to 4x that of your personal automobile the fuel efficiency isn't great... But, it is significantly better than its Class A counter part! When you rent one of our Class C motorhomes, you can expect to get roughly 7-16 mpg. on average!
